Tribes and Settlements

The Sapphire Tribe is a typical Islander tribe, based more on economic and family-support than a religious heritage. Located on the lower Valentina River, the Sapphire village commons includes this sandy wading pool. The houses here are locally built, and supplied with hand-crafted windows and doors built in the tribe's workshops. Hand-crafted doors and window are the tribe's specialty and provide the the bulk of  the tribe's income.

In contrast, Capetown is a typical non-tribe settlement situated here on the southwestern coast. Income is from varied sources, and the neighbors are generally friendly, thought not as tightly-knit as in a tribe. People often choose settlements over tribes for a bit more privacy.
